When creating Book I of Homage to Ancient Irish Manuscripts for the collector, Robert Pierse, Tighe completed Book II at the same time for his own collection.
Here is the front of the book box, made from yew wood, which gives it a rich, waxy finish. The hinges are hand-fashioned from steel, with mahogany wood covered by leather embossings upon which the open book rests. The central medallion is gold foil over cast pewter, with a molten glass orb in the centre.
